I Took the Wrong Script and Became the Protagonist’s Partner?

There is a certain kind of novel whose protagonists receive none of the privileges normally granted to a main character.

Instead, they are subjected to endless physical and emotional abuse until they lose their sanity, with their stories invariably ending in madness or death.

After receiving countless complaints from readers, System 000 is assigned an important mission: the Book Rehabilitation Project. Its task is to transform banned, relentlessly depressing novels into wholesome works and turn their gloomy, deranged protagonists into positive and well-adjusted young men of the new era.

However, there appears to be a small bug.

In the first world, System 000 informs Shi Mian that the protagonist shou he created is a thoroughly dangerous lunatic who has already violated thirteen laws within the novel’s first thirty thousand characters.

Shi Mian is understandably shocked.

There is only one problem.

He did not write that novel.

Due to an apparent mix-up, Shi Mian is forced to enter someone else’s story just as its protagonist is beginning to lose control. Meanwhile, the original author has been sent into one of Shi Mian’s supposedly “respectable” novels.

Now Shi Mian must travel through a series of broken stories, deal with their unstable protagonists, and somehow guide each doomed world toward a brighter ending.

But the protagonists do not seem especially interested in being rehabilitated.

They are far more interested in him.
