The two followers were named Zhang Yang and Jin Duoduo.

When they saw Chu Junheng walk out of the classroom, they immediately packed up and followed.

As they walked, Zhang Yang lowered his voice so only the two of them could hear.

"What do you think Young Master Chu meant just now?"

"He… finally came to his senses?"

Jin Duoduo shook his head and also lowered his voice.

"Hard to say. It’s not like Young Master Chu hasn’t talked tough before."

"Every time he says he’s done, swears he’ll never go again. Then he can’t even last three days. The moment he sees Wen Ruyu, he loses his mind and runs back."

That was true.

Whenever Chu Junheng had been furious before, he would say he would never go again. But at most three days. As soon as he saw Wen Ruyu, he would act as if possessed and go running back.

Otherwise, he would not have become the laughingstock of the entire school.

But Zhang Yang felt this time was different.

This time Young Master Chu’s tone had been full of mockery and disdain. Not only did he say Wen Ruyu was not worthy, he had even thrown the diamond pendant meant for Wen Ruyu to him.

That had never happened before.

Zhang Yang looked at the diamond pendant in his hand and lowered his voice.

"I think this time might really be different. Even when Young Master Chu was angry before, he never gave something meant for Wen Ruyu to someone else."

That was true, but Jin Duoduo did not believe it at all. He raised a brow.

"Want to make a bet?"

"I say he won’t last three days. He’ll definitely go find Wen Ruyu again."

Zhang Yang clenched his jaw, staring at the pendant.

"Fine. Let’s bet."

"I bet this time Young Master Chu won’t turn back."

The two were not walking especially close to Chu Junheng. After finishing their whispering, they quickened their steps to catch up.

With normal human hearing, it would have been impossible to hear them.

But Chu Junheng heard everything.

He gave a faint smile in his heart, a trace of mockery flickering in his eyes.

He was not the spineless fool the original owner had been.

Chu Junheng did not act like anyone’s dog.

Nor did he bother explaining anything to them.

He would make that Wen Ruyu understand. Whatever he had taken from him would have to be returned in full.

Taking advantage of him was not so easy.

Thinking this, Chu Junheng immediately took out his phone and dialed his company assistant.

The call was answered almost instantly. A respectful voice came from the other end.

"Young Master Chu, what instructions do you have?"

"Freeze all my supplementary cards," Chu Junheng said calmly, without the slightest fluctuation in tone.

"Blacklist Wen Ruyu from all industries under the Chu Group. He is not permitted to make any purchases under my name."

"And compile a list of everything I have previously given Wen Ruyu. Send the list to him and demand that he return all of it within three days."

"If he fails to return them within three days, file a lawsuit. Handle it through legal procedures."

The assistant clearly had not expected such an order and was momentarily stunned.

"...Ah?"

Chu Junheng’s voice remained indifferent.

"What?"

The assistant immediately recovered.

"I will arrange everything at once. You will have results within ten minutes."

"Do you need me to repeat myself?"

Chu Junheng hung up.

Because he had not lowered his voice during the call, Zhang Yang and Jin Duoduo had heard everything clearly.

Zhang Yang’s eyes lit up with excitement. He glanced at Jin Duoduo with pride.

What had he said?

Young Master Chu would not turn back this time.

He had won.

Jin Duoduo opened his mouth, but ultimately did not argue.

With things done so decisively, Wen Ruyu would most likely never forgive him. Even if Young Master Chu wanted to go back, there would probably be nothing left to cling to.

It counted as his loss.

But though he had lost the bet, Jin Duoduo did not feel too upset. Instead, he felt a sense of relief.

Their families might not compare to Chu Junheng’s, but they were still well known wealthy heirs in the capital. Yet because Chu Junheng had acted like a fool for Wen Ruyu, even they had been mocked behind their backs for a long time.

Only they knew how humiliating it had felt.

If Young Master Chu truly stopped, at least they could hold their heads high again.

It was lunchtime, and the three headed toward the cafeteria. Because of that phone call, Zhang Yang and Jin Duoduo walked more lightly than before.

But in the next second, both suddenly stopped in their tracks, staring straight ahead.

Chu Junheng noticed their halt and casually lifted his eyes, following their gaze.

The next moment, his heart violently skipped.

In front of a teaching building not far away, a slender figure was slowly walking toward them.

The person’s features were exquisite to the point of near perfection. Sunlight fell upon him, his skin pale almost to translucence. He was beautiful in a way that seemed unreal.

Like the only stroke of color in an ink wash painting, enough to seize all attention and render the entire world colorless.

Stunning did not even begin to describe it.

Chu Junheng’s breathing had already gone uneven. His thoughts blanked for a moment. His heart pounded so hard it felt as if it would burst out of his chest.

He had never felt like this before.

He seemed to have fallen in love at first sight.

He stared fixedly at that figure. His voice came out low and hoarse, urgency unconsciously seeping in.

"Who is that?"

His voice snapped Zhang Yang and Jin Duoduo out of their daze.

The two exchanged strange looks. After hesitating for a long time, one of them answered uncertainly.

"He… he should be Wen Ruyu."

Chu Junheng froze.

This was Wen Ruyu?

He was genuinely stunned.

He possessed the original owner’s memories of Wen Ruyu, but they felt like watching a film from an outsider’s perspective. He could not connect the person before him with the Wen Ruyu in his memories.

The difference was too great.

As if they were two completely different people.

At this moment, Wen Ruyu also noticed the three of them.

He recognized Chu Junheng at a glance.

In the original host’s memories, Chu Junheng had been the most generous fool. Almost every meeting came with a gift.

Compared to the others, the original host treated him somewhat better, at least not ignoring him outright.

Wen Ruyu could not ignore him either.

Moreover, the other party had clearly already seen him. If he pretended not to notice, it would not fit the original host’s persona.

Wen Ruyu paused, then walked toward Chu Junheng at an unhurried pace.

As he watched that figure approach step by step, Chu Junheng grew inexplicably nervous. The indifference he had earlier vanished completely, replaced by unmistakable tension and uncertainty.

Sometimes a person cannot even empathize with their past self.

Not even with the self from minutes ago.

He finally understood why the original owner had become a fool.

In front of someone like this, even being a fool might feel like a blessing.

His heart pounded wildly.

He wanted this person.

At any cost.

He wanted him to be his.

Only his.

Wen Ruyu stopped before him. Just as he was about to speak, his gaze fell first on the diamond pendant in Zhang Yang’s hand.

He recalled from the original host’s memories that Chu Junheng had mentioned customizing a diamond pendant and even sent photos.

It seemed to be this one.

So he had come today to give it to him.

Wen Ruyu was not the original host. He did not like such things, nor did he want to accept them.

His expression cooled. He seized the opportunity and spoke with undisguised displeasure and arrogance.

"You gave my pendant to him?"

The words were domineering and entitled. A gift not yet handed over could not be considered his.

But the original host would indeed act that way.

In his eyes, anything intended for him already belonged to him.

Chu Junheng looked at the person in front of him. Even while angry, he resembled a small cat with bristling fur, proud and beautiful. His body reacted faster than his mind.

"No."

"I just asked him to hold it."

He quickly snatched the pendant back from Zhang Yang, so fast Zhang Yang did not even react.

Even if he had, he would not have dared refuse.

He stared blankly at Wen Ruyu, any previous dissatisfaction gone. He looked almost dazed.

Chu Junheng handed the pendant to Wen Ruyu, looking no different from the fool he had just disdained.

But Wen Ruyu did not reach out. He only glanced at it and looked away.

"I don’t want it."

"It’s dirty."

In the past, if anyone dared speak to him like that, Chu Junheng would have made them pay.

But he was not angry.

He glanced at the pendant in his hand and, inexplicably, felt it was indeed unworthy. Something touched by others did not suit the person before him.

And it was cheap.

He withdrew the pendant and, without hesitation, removed the watch from his wrist, extending it toward Wen Ruyu.

"Don’t be angry."

"You like this watch, don’t you?"

"I’ll give it to you."

Wen Ruyu had only said that to refuse the pendant. But when he saw the watch, he paused.

It was no ordinary watch.

It was a globally limited edition piece, crafted by a renowned foreign master. Its value exceeded the pendant by more than a hundred times.

The original host had always thought the watch suited Fu Qingfeng. He had hinted multiple times that he liked it, but Chu Junheng had never given it.

If the original host were here, he would never refuse.

Even if Wen Ruyu did not want to accept it, to maintain the persona, he had no choice but to reach out.

The moment his fingertips touched the watch, Chu Junheng suddenly grabbed his wrist.

The force was firm, leaving no room for refusal.

Wen Ruyu was caught off guard and pulled directly into Chu Junheng’s arms. His eyes widened in shock as he struggled.

"What are you doing!?"

But his strength was too slight to break free.

Chu Junheng lowered his gaze to Wen Ruyu’s flustered expression, to the faint redness at the corners of his eyes from struggling. His dark eyes deepened slightly.

His voice was low and magnetic, carrying an unmistakable sense of invasion and danger.

"If you accept my gift, you should give something in return."

"That’s how reciprocity works."

"Isn’t it?"
