The man’s tone was completely different from before, as if Wen Ruyu’s attempt had angered him. The danger in his words sent chills through the body.

It was like a sentence of death being pronounced.

Wen Ruyu had already been in extreme terror. After hearing the man’s words, the fear in his eyes deepened even more. Instinctively he tried to step back.

But his body suddenly went weak.

As if all strength had been drained from it, he collapsed helplessly onto the ground.

When a person is gripped by extreme fear, the body can lose control.

Right now he could not muster even a trace of strength.

Wen Ruyu’s slender body trembled uncontrollably. He sat there on the ground, his beautiful eyes hazy with mist, his entire being radiating helplessness and vulnerability.

It was obvious.

He had frightened him.

And quite badly.

If an ordinary person looked like this, it would only make others think them weak, perhaps even disgusted.

But on the young man, it was different.

This posture did not diminish his beauty in the slightest.

Instead, it added a fragile, shattered quality.

The sight of him was heartbreakingly pitiful, enough to make someone want to pull him into their arms and comfort him, never letting him suffer the slightest grievance anywhere except perhaps in bed.

At the same time, it also stirred darker impulses.

The young man had no strength at all right now.

He could not run.

Naturally, he could not resist either.

Perhaps there was no need to threaten him with a knife at all.

The young man would likely go limp, allowing him to do whatever he wanted.

At that time the young man might cry even more miserably, yet he would only be able to whimper and beg him.

Beg him…

Dark emotions rolled within the man’s deep eyes, mixed with an indescribable oppressive aura.

Just as he lifted his foot and began walking toward Wen Ruyu—

The class bell suddenly rang.

"Ring—"

"Ring—"

"Ring—"

Physical education class was over.

The students on the field immediately became noisy after hearing the bell. Groups of two or three began leaving the field one after another.

Among them was Yang Ruiqing.

After hearing the bell, Yang Ruiqing neatly tossed the ball in his hand into the nearby basket with precise accuracy.

Then he picked up the bottle of mineral water beside him, took a large gulp, and began walking toward the direction of the abandoned teaching building with the bottle still in hand.

He was heading back to the academic buildings.

The large sports field was located at the edge of the campus. Anyone returning to the teaching buildings or dormitory area had to pass in front of the abandoned teaching building.

It was a path Yang Ruiqing had walked hundreds, perhaps thousands, of times.

But this time, before he even got close, he suddenly sensed a gaze fixed firmly upon him.

Yang Ruiqing frowned slightly.

A trace of disgust rose in his eyes as he impatiently lifted his head and looked directly toward the end of the corridor of the abandoned teaching building.

He had assumed it was that persistent creep who secretly photographed him again.

Disgust was obvious in his gaze.

But when he clearly saw the figure standing there, he paused in surprise.

The person standing there was not the one who secretly photographed him.

It was an unfamiliar man.

The man was tall and well built, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Most of his face was hidden beneath the shadow of the hood, revealing only a sharply defined jawline.

This was definitely not the person he hated.

The person he disliked was much heavier and shorter, even his silhouette radiating ugliness.

But the man before him was completely different.

Leaving aside his unseen face, his physique alone was good enough to make him a model.

The unfamiliar man stood motionless at the end of the corridor, his gaze seemingly resting on Yang Ruiqing.

He did not move at all.

Like a statue.

Yang Ruiqing felt uncomfortable under that gaze. He frowned slightly, a strange feeling rising in his chest.

Who was this man?

Why was he staring at him?

Yang Ruiqing could not understand it, nor did he intend to investigate further.

If the man’s gaze had not been so direct, making him uncomfortable, he probably would not even have looked over.

Out of courtesy, however, he hesitated for a moment before nodding toward the corridor in greeting.

Then he withdrew his gaze and continued walking toward the teaching buildings, never once stopping his steps.

Yang Ruiqing was indeed handsome and outstanding.

His personality was gentle as well.

Even when facing a gaze he disliked, he restrained his temper and offered a greeting, giving off a calm and refined presence.

No matter how one looked at him, he was someone who easily inspired goodwill.

He was indeed excellent.

But the man standing at the end of the corridor did not think so.

He remained where he was, never moving from beginning to end.

He did not even tilt his head.

But his eyes seemed glued to Yang Ruiqing’s departing figure, slowly following the movement of his back.

His dark eyes were deep and unfathomable, and there was not the slightest emotion visible on his face.

The noon sunlight streamed through the end of the corridor, casting his shadow behind him.

Yet it could not dispel the chill surrounding him.

Sure enough…

Still unpleasant to look at…

The man stared expressionlessly at Yang Ruiqing’s back. His thumb and forefinger rubbed together unconsciously, as if still remembering the cold sensation of the knife blade from moments earlier.

The longer he looked…

The more unpleasant it seemed.

Heh.

The corners of his lips lifted slightly, forming a faint curve.

The smile carried a hint of sickening madness.

If something was unpleasant to look at—

Then it should simply be stabbed to death.

In his world, things that irritated his eyes should not exist.

After Yang Ruiqing’s figure finally disappeared around the corner of the abandoned building, the man withdrew his gaze.

He slowly turned his head.

His eyes settled on the corridor behind him.

Although it was noon and the sun hung high in the sky, the corridor of the abandoned teaching building remained dim.

Yet even in the dim light, one could clearly see the young man sitting not far away.

The young man had likely been frightened out of his wits by the knife just now.

He sat collapsed on the cold concrete floor, his slender and beautiful body slightly curled up, looking pitiful beyond words.

His sunglasses and mask had long since disappeared, revealing that excessively beautiful face.

It was the kind of pallor that suggested someone who rarely saw sunlight, a nearly translucent sickly whiteness that made the redness at the corners of his eyes even more striking.

His beautiful eyes were filled with terror and helplessness.

Moist with tears, they looked like a small animal caught in a hunter’s trap, fragile enough to shatter at the slightest touch.

Perhaps sensing the man’s gaze, the young man’s slender body trembled lightly when the man looked at him.

Even in such a miserable state, he carried a breathtaking beauty.

Even that fragile, pitiful appearance seemed to carry a fatal hook capable of drawing out the darkest desires hidden deep within a person’s heart.

The man’s gaze darkened instantly.

Something obscure flickered within his eyes.

The next moment, he lifted his foot and began walking toward Wen Ruyu.
