The cathedral of Rebellion did not fall short even compared to the grand cathedrals of the capitals of great houses.

It was a metropolis of eight hundred thousand, and the footsteps of merchants coming and going never ceased.

Gold coins collected through offerings, blessings, and the sale of holy water piled up like mountains, and that power led to the cathedral’s scale and dignity.

The stained glass on all sides shone as if burning.

Fragments of colored glass filtered the sunlight and sent dazzling five-colored waves flowing into the sanctuary.

Saint Deneb stood within it, ears pricked, wearing an inorganic smile.

It has begun.

His eyes flashed.

One could not collapse a great house by pointing a blade at it without warning.

But if, at this moment when the Elector Princes Council was to be held, one could bind the great houses with a pretext even they themselves could not deny, the story changed.

“Lord of starlight. Reveal Your will even amid this chaos. Judge those who wield false authority, and leave only the true children of the stars.”

Saint Deneb continued his prayer.

In his mind, the diagram was already complete.

Tie the mutant demonic beasts to the marksman school, and the marksman school to Kyrie.

Tie Kyrie again to Erica, Andromeda, and the twins of Flammerios.

Thus he would cripple half of the six great houses and make them kneel beneath the Myriad Star.

By then, there would be no need to even discuss the marksman school.

If they, too, did not wish to be trampled, they would have no choice but to speak of faith and kneel.

The gunpowder and barrels they were so proud of, and the blessing of the White Flower Star, would become powerless before the Myriad Star.

If they could not prove the value of their existence even by begging, there would be only the path of vanishing within the order of stars the Myriad Star Church would reorganize.

“O light of the constellation. Our blades are for mercy, and our judgment is for salvation. Extinguish that spark of the abyss, and raise a united Empire once more.”

Saint Deneb’s gaze looked calmly, yet obsessively, toward the southern sky.

Today’s rampage was the beginning.

There are not no variables, but.

For Blue Knights specialized in close combat, it was an enemy they could do nothing about.

Unless Kyrie had learned more long-range authority in those few months, it would certainly succeed.

Kyrie fired “Magnetic Railshot ionized gas.”

Swaaaaaak!

A trajectory made by the mixture of blue-green lightning and orange flame tore through the air.

The throwing dagger drew a path like a falling star and drove straight toward the mutant demonic beast’s head.

Boom!

With a tremendous impact sound, nearly half of the demonic beast’s head was blown away.

Flesh and bone fragments scattered in all directions like rain.

Sticky blood and flesh covered the main avenue red.

Thud!

[“----!?”]

The enormous body staggered.

The mutant demonic beast stretched out tentacles like spinal bones, braced itself against the walls of the surrounding insulae, and barely endured without collapsing.

[“■■■■■!?”]

A mental wave filled with bewilderment burst from its halved jaw.

Tzzzzzz!

It tried to forcibly pull together the broken bones and crushed flesh and reconstruct its head.

It worked.

Chiiiiik!

However, the fully heated dagger was still embedded in the demonic beast’s head.

The ionized gas raised an unquenchable flame and sizzled, roasting flesh and bone.

Brilliant current mixed with red brain matter and burst pieces of flesh like boiling meat stew.

As expected.

Kyrie narrowed his eyes.

He had already seen several times how mutant demonic beasts reconstructed their bodies.

If continuous damage is dealt with high heat and current, regeneration is not easy either.

Half of the mutant demonic beast’s head merely burned black and could not attach again.

Kyrie fired “Magnetic Railshot ionized gas” in succession.

Swaaaak!

He fired the second ionized gas.

It pierced squarely through the thorax.

The bone protecting the heart shattered, and blood surged up like a fountain.

Swaaaak!

The third ionized gas lodged in the left shoulder.

White current tore the entire arm apart as if exploding it.

One bone tentacle fell away and rolled across the main avenue.

Swaaaaaak!

The fourth Magnetic Railshot ionized gas flew.

The Magnetic Railshot grazed past the nape and pierced the cluster of spinal tentacles hanging from its back.

As blue-green ionized gas poured along its spine like oil, dozens of tentacles caught fire at the same time.

[“■■■■■■■-!”]

The mutant demonic beast burst into a roar.

Its enormous body staggered and scraped down and collapsed insula walls in succession.

Stone and dust whirled like a storm.

“Kyaaaaaak!”

“Aaaaaaagh!”

The citizens’ screams grew louder.

Kyrie stared at the mutant demonic beast before his eyes.

The daggers clad in ionized gas were certainly preventing regeneration.

It works.

It was an opportunity to finish it with long-range authority alone.

Vmmm!

He floated the fifth throwing dagger into the air.

Erica and Blue Hydrangea watched that sight leisurely.

As expected of you.

Erica’s heart swelled.

She, too, had seen Kyrie fight mutant demonic beasts several times.

You never once stopped walking forward.

Kyrie’s tactics became more and more skillful, and his techniques became clearer and clearer.

From the days when you could not even properly wield Lightning Strike to now, when you dye the whole sky white, you have always been a tailwind blowing forward.

Erica knew that such people were remembered by the age.

The free Storm Star will remember you.

She believed that he would die and rise into the night sky.

Blue Hydrangea thought a little differently.

She examined the surrounding situation, not Magnetic Railshot or Kyrie.

There has not been a single casualty among the combatants yet. At the very least, even we are just watching with our arms crossed right now.

The Lightning Blade was trying to kill the mutant demonic beast with long-range authority alone.

He boasts of personal valor, yet does not take risks. His priorities are clear.

It was the attitude of a rational military commander.

Himself, allied command, allied superhuman soldiers, allied ordinary soldiers, citizens, in that order.

He knows that, ultimately, this is the way to save more people and those more precious.

Therefore, her marksman school sisters would also be able to enter a high priority.

Blue Hydrangea looked at Kyrie’s back.

Pajijijik!

Kyrie engraved lightning reinforcement into the fifth throwing dagger, then clad it in ionized gas.

The dagger burned the air, holding white lightning and blue flame at once.

[“Grrrrr...”]

The mutant demonic beast was already covered in blood from head to toe.

Blood and bodily fluids streamed from its severed arm, torn shoulder, and half-melted skull, dyeing the main avenue red.

Its obese body now could not even stand properly and staggered.

Wooooong!

The dagger that would become the final blow aimed at its chest.

[“■■■■■-!”]

At that moment, another shadow sprang out from a side alley.

“Huh?”

It was a second mutant demonic beast.

“Nereus!”

Kyrie knew.

As expected.

Because he had not missed the strange movement caught in Bio-radar.

Swaaaaaak!

Magnetic Railshot ionized gas flew as planned.

Thud!

It smashed the first mutant demonic beast’s chest.

Bone, carapace, and flesh all shattered and scattered amid flame.

The monster collapsed without even screaming.

At the same time, the second mutant demonic beast charged.

“I know!”

Nereus leaped up like lightning and thrust out his fist.

Electricity burst from the fist of the Thunder Lion.

Emission.

Pajijijijik!

Electricity that gushed like a red torrent swept over the demonic beast in an instant.

Its skinless muscles burned in the blink of an eye and gave off acrid smoke.

The mutant demonic beast curled up and vomited a scream.

[“----!”]

At that moment, Nereus saw the second mutant demonic beast’s exact form.

“Hm?”

The second mutant demonic beast was far smaller than the first mutant demonic beast.

Its height was only a little over three meters.

Because of its thin build, it seemed lighter even than a high orc warrior.

Tentacles like a spine were attached to its back, but only its face retained the shape of a human.

Nereus frowned.

“What is this?”

The monster’s lips and eyelids trembled.

“Please, save me.”

Though twisted, a clearly human shape still remained without having vanished.

Erica and Blue Hydrangea were also superhuman warriors.

The two felt the moment the flow of air changed.

“Did you notice?”

“Yes.”

The screams that had been bursting out nearby until just now suddenly subsided.

Instead, new screams came from a distant place, toward the outside of the city.

It was as though the battle line itself had moved, like when an encirclement collapsed on a battlefield.

Mental waves are contagious. But they only work on demonic beasts with weak intelligence. There is no way a human would transform into a mutant demonic beast...!

Erica swallowed a groan inwardly and spread her arms.

Chiiing!

Transparent armor of wind wrapped around her, dress and all.

Wind King Armor.

[“Close-combat Enhancement technique.”]

Blue Hydrangea also responded immediately.

Calmly. Suppress power consumption.

She drew the short musket at her waist, loaded a bullet, and fitted the bayonet, modifying it for urban combat.

“More are coming!”

Nereus shouted like thunder.

The eldest son of thunder drew the Wall-Breaking Longsword and glared into the alley.

[“-----!”]

[“--, --!”]

[“---!”]

Five or six mutant demonic beasts crawled out, tearing through the darkness.

All were a little over three meters tall, their skin flayed away to expose muscle, and bone tentacles jutted sharply from their backs and shoulders.

Even so, faint human shapes still remained in their faces, making them even more grotesque.

[“Get those fucking faces out of my sight!”]

Nereus roared like a lion and swung the sword holding lightning.

Rumble!

Air burst from the tip of the blade, and a thunder-like shockwave surged in one direction.

Heavenly Thunderbolt explosive sword.

Heavenly Thunderbolt was originally an authority that guided the thunder following a lightning strike in one direction.

The explosive sword was a technique created by applying that principle.

It made the blade hold high-voltage current and exploded the air with that blast pressure, creating pseudo-thunder.

The effect was immediate.

Babababoom!

The mutant demonic beasts standing in the first line were smashed apart and ground away like paper dolls struck by an iron mace.

Limbs scattered, and spinal tentacles broke apart like half-burned ash.

“Storm Star.”

Erica did not stay still either.

She soared into the air on Wind King Armor.

She rose to an altitude of thirty meters in an instant, drew her eastern curved blade, and swung it like wind.

Slice!

Every time the blade flashed once, one mutant demonic beast was bisected vertically.

“This queen will stop their spread! Help Lord Kyrie and bring down that enormous one first!”

She waved her hand.

Whoooooosh!

Translucent curtains rose across the alleys and main avenue.

Walls of wind whirled up dust and blocked the mutant demonic beasts’ routes of advance.

When the mutant demonic beasts slammed into them with their bodies, the wind caused an elastic repulsion and pushed them back.

[“---!?”]

The mutant demonic beasts’ eyes filled with question.

As expected of a direct line.

Blue Hydrangea glanced at that majesty and ran.

Even as the distant cries of the demonic beasts blocked by the Wind King Barrier echoed between the alleys, she did not hesitate.

I must be active where the supreme commander can see my achievements.

She ran toward Kyrie, who stood in the middle of the main avenue far ahead.

“Now, enough, die!”

Kyrie was in the midst of calling up Sacheol Blade beneath his feet.

Tzzzzzz!

A wave of black metal surged over the main avenue.

At every edge, ionized gas burst like foam, blooming into spray mixed with blue-green and orange light.

Kadadadadak!

The Lightning Blade swung the Sacheol Blade.

The superheated ionized gas boiled flesh, and the Sacheol Blade cut bone.

Electricity scorched the monster’s nerves and stole even its final struggle.

Slice!

The mutant demonic beast’s limbs were severed one after another.

Kyrie did not even catch his breath.

“Ha!”

As if to deliver the final blow, he drew the crystalline holy sword.

Lightning reinforcement and ionized gas wrapped around the blade and blazed up.

Slice!

That pale blue light drew a single line.

The enormous head rolled down.

Drip!

At that moment, the mutant demonic beast’s body melted down like cheese.

“Huh?”

Blue Hydrangea came to a halt.

Inside the flesh and organs, the form of a woman appeared.

“White Plum?”

She was a woman with white hair, foreign features, and the red uniform of the marksman school.

A sister.

“Do you know her?”

Kyrie asked with the crystalline holy sword hanging low.

In that instant, dozens of thoughts passed through Blue Hydrangea’s head.

Why is our sister in this state?

If I cover it up with lies, will he believe me? Has that much trust been built? Do I have that much value?

Surely it was not a voluntary devotion?

She turned her eyes and scanned Kyrie up and down.

I cannot win if I fight. Absolutely not.

On the excited face of the Blue Knight who had just finished battle, violence unrelated to his nature was boiling, and Sacheol Blade still surged beneath his feet.

But I cannot give up either.

Blue Hydrangea was about to undertake an action close to a suicide charge.

“If you know her, take care of her quickly. It seems the city soldiers will come soon too, so hide her well.”

However, Kyrie gave the answer she had wanted.

“Pardon?”

“Was she not someone you know? Then...”

“No. She is someone I know. I will hide her well.”

Having made precisely the same calculation as her.

Arms bend inward. That is normal. If I saw a Blue Knight in this state, I would cover for them first too. Apart from reason, that is reality. If I am not going to turn Blue Hydrangea and all four hundred under her command into enemies here, I have to cover for her and make her owe me. Later, I ask for the truth with that debt as trust. Not because this is right, but because there is nothing else I can do.

I owe him. He understood. That I could not abandon that sister. I am only grateful. I must clean this up quickly and report the truth.
